Pirate Boy & Jones

Jones was helping Leona make some crafts.  This is a pink caterpillar, Leona's color choice, Jones wanted green!

It was a pretty cold day so we had a fire going.  At some point it started to die done a little, and David- my husband mentioned it would be perfect for......
MARSHMALLOWS!!  So we had roasted marshmallows for a snack.

I coordinated a trip to a working farms pumpkin patch for a get together in my Mommy group.  It was a wonderful success!  We had 18 children participating.  We took  a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch, picked a pumpkin, and two gourds. We had apples and Indian corn, and pulled wagons around rows of pumpkins.  The kids were too tired to make it through the corn maze, but it was well worth the $4. per child!

There's David, Lucas and Leona.   HI!!!

Pumpkin, pumpkins everywhere!!

Here are the pictures I took at my work.  I work in a dermatology office and we specialize in lasers.
This one is called the Ruby laser.  It can treat dark sun marks and remove tatoo's.

This one is more powerful.  It can vaporizes warts, vaporize scars, and laser resurfacing.

This is the city, sorry but only a car's eye view.

And a good old fashion traffic jam...

Pirate Boy And Jones

Indiana Jones and Pirate Boy arrived  September 3oth.  The kids were excited to have new travelers and made fast friends of them.  Leona affectionately calls Indiana Jones, Jones.  And Lucas liked Pirate Boy right off the bat.  Luckily, we have not had any arguing over flats...knock on wood.
Lucas introducing himself to Pirate Boy.
Lucas shared his snack with Pirate Boy.
So excited, he gave Pirate Boy a kiss.

Leona was thrilled with Jones.  Jones, meet Leona.  Leona, meet Jones.

Pirate Boy meets Rusty and takes a short ride on his head.
Jones wanted a ride too, Rusty looks so depressed at this point.
We introduced both flats to our second pet, Goldie the goldfish- I know, really original.  But the kids named it themselves, they are two and a half!

Jones and Pirate boy helped us finish up our clay igloo's.  We had to make 20 of them for an alphabet project that we are doing with our play group.  Each letter of the alphabet will have a small tub, where we will have small objects that begin with that letter inside of it.  We are always doing some sort of project like this with our play group.  Thanks for helping guys!
Jones goes on a train ride, and Leona made sure he got one and off safely!

Pirate Boy tried to hold up the train, but alas- there was no treasure to be found!

And here they are sending an email home to check in and let everyone know that they arrived in New York Safely!

Flat Nate & Buzz

Harvest time!!  we finally got some ripe eggplant and zucchini before the kids picked them.  We made vegetable lasagna for dinner.   You both liked it because it had lots of sauce and cheese!!

We went for one of our weekend hikes.  This time we went to Mendon Ponds to feed the birds.   Mendon Ponds was formed by glaciers and is now a nature preserve.
New York state usually has some really great Maple syrup.  This year there really wasn't much of a season for it since it got too warm too quickly, but here is a huge Sugar maple!
Mendon Ponds is a nature preserve, so although there is miles of hiking trails throughout it, they ask that you do not take plants, animals or other materials from the park, that you carry out what you carry in and respect the bird houses and nature education centers there are all around Mendon Ponds.

Checking out the bacteria growing on the piece of wood in one of the education stations.
Here is one of the Chicka-a-dee's eating sunflower seeds from my hand.  We tried to get them to eat near you, but they weren't very cooperative.  This is the only one that we got to eat from our hands that day.  There's too many other natural sources of food for them to come to humans.
Sharon's Sensory garden has me wanting to make a sensory garden of our own.  A project for next Spring and Summer.  There are wind chimes, hand chimes, odorous plants, and small waterfall in the sensory garden.  The kids love the wind chimes the most.

This was picnic we went to for the play group that we belong to.  we had a great time.   there were two bounce houses, a playground, water balloons and TONS of snack food.  We are in the first row, sitting down, to the left of the middle.

Here we are at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.  We were having lunch in the cafeteria with some of our friends, when Izzy discovered you and wanted to play.  we played house, and fed you lunch and told you a story about an alligator that went to bed with Izzy.
Longwood gardens was fun.  We went for another great hike, IKEA and Please Touch Museum.  we almost lost you there, so we decided to leave you in the car.

We had a great time with you and taking you around to some fun places.  We hope you had a good time too!!
